SENDIASS is the Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities Information, Advice and Support Service for Torbay. It is a free, confidential and impartial information and advice service, set up to support parents and carers of children aged 0-25 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Every teacher at Curledge Street Academy is a teacher of Special Educational Needs and/ or Disabilities (SEND), therefore your child’s class teacher should be the first point of contact if you have queries or concerns.
Mr Williams, the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCO), is available to support you with queries relating to additional needs. As well as overseeing outcomes and provision for all pupils with SEND, Mr Williams is also a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
At Curledge Street Academy, we have a large team who work within the SEND Department, the Pastoral Team and the Nurture Provision. We are inclusive in our approach, providing an enriching learning environment that enables all children to be the best they can be.
